We believe children learn through creativity and fun, adult attention and lots of praise.
The children’s support hub is targeted at primary aged children and their families.
The sessions are pre-planned around providing emotional, social, and academic assistance, with a focus on connection, creativity and curiosity. We believe the structure and consistency we provide is key to the sense of safety and belonging the children feel which in turn supports their educational development and improvement. We provide as many opportunities as possible for educational and personal growth, positive mentorship and daily living skills.
The basis of all sessions are the same throughout the year however each term has a different theme.
Session is weekly on a Wednesday 3:30pm – 4:30pm during school term.
Term 1 sessions are planned around community connections, introducing the concept of safe and positive relationships with themselves and others. This introduction helps the children build a sense of belonging, recognising their safety network and building their self-confidence.
Term 2 sessions are around “playing shop” introducing basic concepts of money, healthy eating, and grocery shopping which we hope help the children understand the value of money, the benefits of healthy eating, practical real-world skills and building their self-confidence all while having fun.
Term 3 session are all about different types of physical, board, intellectual and role playing games. Playing games improves cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being of children and also provides opportunities to increase confidence, self-esteem and social skills.
Term 4 sessions are about planning for the end of year show Christmas spectacular show. Children get to explore different roles involved in planning and organising a talent show.
